The Archdiocese of Atlanta requires all students to participate in “VIRTUS - Empowering God's Children" Safe Environment Training. Children are taught that God is a loving, listening, caring presence in their daily lives and that they should feel secure and safe in sharing information about problems or people that worry them with a trusted adult. This program is provided to us by the Archdiocese of Atlanta and is a part of our ongoing effort to help create and maintain a safe environment for children and to protect all children from sexual abuse.
We offer training for all grades every year at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. The “VIRTUS - Teaching Touching Safety Program” session will be presented. Please note, if your child has not previously received the training and they are not in the initial grade groups (Grades 3, 6 and 9), we welcome them to participate and receive this valuable training.
Sessions are age-appropriate and parents are welcome to attend.
