Altar Care
This ministry cleans the altar, sacristy, chapel, and Church area. We welcome adults, teens, and families to join us; the time commitment is about 2 hours every 9 months. Additionally, the Altar Care Ministry does a major cleaning of the Church at Christmas and Easter. If you can push a broom and vacuum cleaner, we would love to have you!

ALTAR LINENS
Members of this ministry launder the linens used for Mass (it is separate from the “Altar Care Ministry” that cleans the church). Depending on the number of members in the ministry, volunteers are assigned (1-2) specific months throughout the year to wash and iron the linens. The linens are picked up and returned weekly throughout the entire, assigned months. These include linens used during daily and weekend Masses—towels, purificators, altar cloths, etc.). Laundering involves washing and ironing the linens after the weekend Masses and returning them before the following weekend. Special care is used in washing linens that are stained with Precious Blood.

Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers assist the priests and deacons with the distribution of Holy Communion at each Mass. Registered and active members of the parish aged 16 and older, confirmed and in good standing with the Catholic Church, are welcome to become EMs. There is an initial training and yearly retreats; EMs are required to serve when scheduled or to find a replacement as needed. When scheduled, Eucharistic Ministers are asked to arrive 15 minutes early, prepared to serve.

LECTORS
Lectors provide prayerful and powerful proclamation of the Word of God at Sunday Masses and other special liturgical celebrations. Adults and teens who feel comfortable reading before a congregation and who have the desire to proclaim the Word are invited to become lectors. Depending on Mass preference, lectors may be scheduled as often as every two weeks or as seldom as every two months. There is an initial training for all lectors and ongoing formation offered through the year.

Liturgy Committee
The Liturgy Committee assists the Pastor in his role as Liturgical Leader of the parish. This committee consists of the heads of all the liturgical ministries and is responsible for overseeing the liturgical life of the parish. Members regularly review and critique the liturgies and make recommendations for improvement. Each member is committed to attending regular meetings on the first Monday of the month, from 7:00-9:00pm.

MINISTERS OF HOSPITALITY
Ministers of Hospitality help to create a welcoming, friendly and dignified order to the celebration of the Mass. The first people the faithful meet upon entering the church are Ministers of Hospitality. Adults and teens in this ministry greet and welcome the faithful as they gather for worship, assist with the seating of the congregation, collect the offertory, direct the procession to communion, and distribute the parish bulletins. We are usually the first contact when people come into the Church. There is an initial training offered 2-4 times per year, which lasts approximately 1 ½ hours, with an annual Day of Reflection. Team Captains meet 4 times per year. Members must be outgoing, friendly, punctual, and responsible.

MUSIC MINISTRY
Music is an extremely important part of our prayer and of the liturgy, and our music ministry creates a space where ALL people may encounter the living God through the art of music. The primary role of pastoral musicians is to lead and accompany the communal song of the assembled people of God. Our comprehensive program enables those who are called to this ministry to exercise their gifts in service to the church and the assembly. We welcome all who desire to sing and/or play and have a deep commitment to doing the work. Special Requirements: All are welcome to join any ensemble regardless of experience or ability. The only special requirements are a desire to make music and a commitment to learning, practicing, and performing.

Tech Ministry
A number of years ago, the Parish decided to do away with Music Books and Printed Guides for our Masses. This was replaced with electronic projections of slides on the Screens in the Church. Those who would like to help change the slides at Mass on Saturday or Sunday please contact Buddy.

SACRISTANS
Sacristans are parishioners who prepare the Church and sanctuary for the celebration of each and every Mass, as well as assuring the worship space and liturgical items are kept clean and returned to their proper place. Responsible adults and teenagers (grades 11 or 12) who have a desire to assist in this ministry are welcome. Sacristans are asked to arrive at least ½ hour before Mass begins and to remain after Mass until all liturgical items are stored. Sacristans may volunteer to serve during special seasons, Holy Days and Funerals. All Sacristans should be reverent, dedicated, reliable, discreet, and trustworthy. They should also be organized and detail-oriented, have a desire to help “behind the scenes,” and be willing to serve whenever the need arises.
