First Reconciliation and First
Eucharist
Readiness Standards
Children must:
-
Be in 2nd grade or
older.

Be currently enrolled
in a formal Religious Education Program (Parish program, home-school or
Catholic school)

Have been enrolled in
formal Religious Education for at least one year prior to the current
year.

Must be registered in
the parish and attend Sunday Mass each week.

Must commit to
continuing Religious Education following reception of First
Eucharist.

Must present a copy of
their Baptismal certificate at registration or by the first class.

Children in Catholic
schools are encouraged to participate in this program, but may be
prepared in school. In this case, parents must let us know that the
child will be participating in the First Communion Mass.
Preparation for First
Eucharist
Children who are ready to
begin preparation for First Reconciliation (Penance) and First Communion
must be registered in the Sacramental Preparation Program and attend
separate classes on 12 Monday nights during the school year. The classes
are open to children in second grade or older who meet these readiness
standards. If you believe your child is ready to receive these
sacraments, please complete a Religious Education Form AND a Sacramental
Registration Form and return them to the Religious Education Office.
Parent classes are also offered at the same time. One or both parents are
expected to attend each week.
Fees
The fee for the
Sacramental Preparation Program is $20.00 per student. Fees include
student book, parent handouts, Bibles and rosaries.

Confirmation Program
Confirmation Candidates:
-
Are active Catholic teenagers, in Grade 10 or higher

Attend Sunday Mass each week

Are registered in the parish (with family)
-
Participate in the sacramental life of the church by receiving Communion
and celebrating Reconciliation

Attend LIFE TEEN on Sundays or Scripture for LIFE on Wednesdays or
attend Catholic High School or a Catholic Home School program.

Must have attended formal religious education for the prior two years.

Must attend the Confirmation retreat
-
Offer 30 hours of Church and Community service
